DUNEDOO

Population: 829; 375km NW of Sydney.

Dunedoo is a delightful town set amid low rolling hills. Wheat cattle and sheep are the main agricultural pursuits. ‘Dunedoo’ is an aboriginal word meaning swan, and the bird is a recurring motif throughout the town. The town was established to service local landholdings. It is known as the southern gateway to the Warrumbungles. Dunedoo is the home of the Chinaman’s Spring 40 gate motor cross track, where seven meets a year are held.
